Rihanna climbs out of the dark recess from which she was apparently making her most recent music, and offers up a song with a definite club vibe. Produced by Stargate – the Norwegian production team behind “Please Don’t Stop the Music” and “Hate That I Love You“, – “Only Girl (In The World)” is slated to appear on Rihanna’s upcoming album. As the rumor mill has it, the album may be titled “Loud!”

We’re having a hard enough time coping with the fact that Summer is on its way out, and Wiz Khalifa isn’t making it any easier on us; “In the Cut”, off “Kush & Orange Juice“, has Summer anthem written all over it, and so does the official video. Why couldn’t this have premiered two months ago? In any case, enjoy the great visual – yes, there are plenty of doobies being rolled up, and we’d like to know who the fella drinking out of the huge measuring cup is, because that’s just gansta’.
This video is a problem. The lyrics on their own convey this idea of a love-crazed man, but the addition of a complimentary visual, makes for the perfect listening-viewing experience. Crazy guitar riffs, quick, shaky camera pans, and Jared damn near yelling his life away into that microphone. Good stuff. We’ve had our eye on Jared Evan, an Interscope signee, for a while, and the man is certainly preparing for what appears to be a meteoric rise to stardom – “In Love with You” had over a million views in one day and was featured in a recent episode of “Entourage.”
Nearly a month ago, we caught a glimpse of what the Famous Nobodies together with 24/7 and Beyond Measure Productions had in store for “Always on It.” But, you can’t rush a good thing, and the teaser served its purpose in keeping fans anxiously awaiting the official video’s premiere. Bonus, download “Always on It” below.

Just the other day we were singing praises for Gilbere Forte’ and his continuous work ethic, and proof positive, here’s some more quality stuff from the lyricist. “I’m So Appalled” actually predates “87 Dreams“, however, Forte’ had to hold off on this video as he dedicated his energy to his most recent mixtape. Co-Directed by Set Free, shot and edited by Jerome White.
While we could appreciate the unofficial video for “F*&!# You“, we knew Cee-Lo would be providing the masses with something stellar when it came time for the official visuals. “F*&!# You” is an ode to that special someone whom you’ve got those butterfly-in-the-stomach, punch-drunk-in-love, can’t-get-enough, feelings for, but unfortunately, those feelings aren’t mutual. Why? Because you’re bank account isn’t looking too appealing. Played.
Watch as Cee-Lo chronicles the trials of being in love with a gold-digging heart-beaker as a kid and eventually into his adult years. Perfect companion to this killer song.
Take another look at MadeMe‘s upcoming Fall/Winter line up, this time in the form of a musical short film by Reid van Renesse. Notice the cameos from Nicole and Natalie of Nina Sky, killer haircuts and all.

Back to the topic, it’s great to see hard work paying off – here Gilbere graces the remix to Stromae‘s “Alors on Danse” alongside Kanye West. Power move.

Bonus – here’s the “clip officiel” to the original “Alors on Danse” by Paul van Haver aka Stromae:
We can already hear the groans and feel the side-eye glares from everyone anti-Bieber. And while we aren’t campaigning for the tween heartthrob movement, we do ask that you give this track a listen, it’s such a bizarre 3-way collaboration, that it’s pretty great.
Kanye West remixed Bieber’s “Runaway Love“, off “My World 2.0” over Wu-Tang Clan’s “Ain’t Nuthing ta F’ Wit.” See, told you it was bizarre, but it works. Raekwon has two verses, while Ye has one, and the two exchange rhymes paying homage to The Wu-Tang Clan in between Bieber’s singing.

Really, you could go on for days with the delayed “Last Train to Paris” jokes – the album release date was pushed to September a few months ago – but we’ll resist the urge. We listened to “Loving You No More” expecting to hear Diddy sing, and weary about how he might sound. But, alas, we were pleasantly surprised; Diddy’s voice on this track is probably his best sound since his foray into the world of singing. It’s that Dirty Money!
London-based purveyors of all things reggae, The Heatwave, are pretty much in the carnival spirit year-round. But, August is carnival season in London, so The Heatwave DJ’s took special care in compiling the the biggest carnival anthems of 2010, along with the best of UK bashment music, “Jafrican” tracks, and of course, some soca, to provide you dancehall fans with Carnival Bashment 2010.

The end of summer is legitimately depressing. Matter of fact, the anxiety that comes with knowing September is around the corner is downright unbearable. Where did the past two months go?
Anyways, Royksopp has laced us with some musical awesomeness as we prepare to bid the lazy, hazy, carefree days of summer adieu. In the the Norwegian, electronic duo’s own words: “We have swum out of the mire to present you with a ‘farewell to summer’ tune. It is a melancholic mash-up of sorts, using elements from a few sources, with the track ‘This Space’, by the excellent Woolfy vs. Projections as the starting point. As usual, we have gone on a complete journey with this, and think we have come up with a perfect late summer cinematic – we hope you agree!”

Big Seif is a friend of The Outlet with a mutual Boston College connection. How someone can balance law school while recording a quality mixtape is beyond us, but, kudos to Seif for pulling it off and providing us with some lyrical substance.
The Fixtape has something for all ears, a “vintage East Coast hip-hop [sound], with a healthy smattering of European producers, dubstep music, and soul samples.” “Misanthropy” has a political/socially critical edge, while “One Hundred” has a laid back/smooth listening vibe to it, and “If You Down, Go Down” is a little somethin’-somethin’ for all you freaks out there.
